Admission to the delivery room

The delivery rooms are located on the 3rd floor of Building D4. Please ring the bell every time you arrive, even if the waiting room is full, as this is the only way to ensure we are aware of your arrival.

In the delivery room, you will first be greeted by a midwife, to whom you will explain the reason for your visit. This will be followed by a consultation and examination by a doctor. This usually involves an assessment of the vaginal examination (dilatation of the cervix, rupture of the membranes), an assessment of uterine activity, a CTG recording to check on the baby’s condition, and, if necessary, an ultrasound scan to check the baby’s position, etc. If labour is already underway, we will also complete the administrative admission process, after which you will proceed to your delivery room with a midwife or your companion. If labour has not yet begun, we will discuss the next steps depending on the circumstances. If you are interested in a premium room, please let us know upon admission.

When you are admitted to the delivery suite, you will need:

  • Identity card
  • Health insurance card
  • Maternity card
  • Declaration of the child’s name
  • Marriage certificate (if married)
  • Birth certificates of both parents (unmarried)
  • Certificate of paternity from the registry office (unmarried, divorced)
  • Results of important tests
  • Your birth plan, if applicable
